About our Back in Motion Alliance
Back In Motion Montmorency provides leading physiotherapy, massage, clinical Pilates and personal training services to Montmorency and surrounding suburbs including Eltham, Lower Plenty, Greensborough, St Helena, Briar Hill, Templestowe and Watsonia.
Back in Motion has 6 talented physiotherapists who have special interests in Clinical Pilates, Hydrotherapy and we have staff with post graduate qualifications in Sports Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Women’s Health physiotherapy. The practice features five consultation rooms, a gym studio space, and the latest equipment including five Pilates reformers in a standalone studio, Real Time Ultrasound, GaitScan™, treadmill, Exercise bike, Functional trainer, free weights and much more.
The Alliance between DCWFC and Back in Motion sees Back in Motion Physiotherpaists provide services to the State level team and act as Supervisors for the RMIT University Interns. Tom Collier and Ben Carubia are provide Injury Prevention and Rehabilition services to the State level team.
Tom and Ben Biography is listed below.
Tom Collier – Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)
Tom undertook his studies at The University of Melbourne where he completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Physiology, followed by a Doctor of Physiotherapy. Tom is passionate about all areas of physiotherapy and enjoys helping people of all ages to become injury free, reach their goals and gain their highest level of function. In particular, Tom has an interest in treating sports injuries and in paediatric physiotherapy. He also works as a physiotherapist for Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club. Outside of work Tom enjoys fishing and playing or watching any form of sport, particularly tennis, football and cricket.
Tom is working as part of the Senior Coaching team. Tom specifically works with the Senior Team providing Injury Rehabilitation and Prevention programs to the team and working individually with certain players. Tom is using his experience to be the Supervisor for the RMIT Strength and Conditioning Intern. DCWFC is delighted that Tom has returned and continues to provide his expert professional services.
Ben Carubia – Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)
Ben has over 9 years of treatment knowledge with a particular emphasis on injury prevention. He also believes that to truly treat an injury therapy does not end at its symptoms, but its underlying causes to prevent a future relapse. Over his time as a health practitioner Ben has had the privilege to work with elite athletes from the Australian Swimming Team, Australian Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams, Australian Tennis Team, Athletics Australia, Western Force Super 15’s Rugby Union, Western Bulldog’s FC, Carlton FC and the Dandenong Rangers WNBL.
In 2014, Ben was the medical officer for the Eastern Football League’s Representative Team. Ben is currently a therapist for the Victorian Cricket Team, Melbourne Renegades T20 Cricket Team and Balwyn Football Club. During his spare time, Ben loves getting outdoors and has a keen interest in Running, Cycling, Kayaking and Snowboarding.
Ben is working directly with the DCWFC State team in the Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation program. Furthermore, Ben is using his experience to be the Supervisor for the RMIT Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Intern. DCWFC are delighted to have Ben as part of the State Team squad and we are benefiting from his knowledge and skills.
